White Topaz is an aluminum silicate with additional fluoride and hydroxide ions. While ideal Topaz gems are colorless, they are commonly found in various hues. White Topaz, being the most popular and affordable among white gemstones, is typically discovered in raw form within granite and pegmatite deposits. It can be artificially treated to enhance its quality, surface color, and texture. Although it measures a solid 8 on the Mohs scale of hardness, it is not resilient, contrary to appearances.
